Whitburn Band would like to wish Andrew McMillan all the best as he moves to England and joins Grimethorpe Band. Andrew has been a leading soloist with Whitburn across the past five years, after joining the band from Campbeltown Brass. On Principal Tenor Horn, he won the Scottish Championships with Whitburn four times. He also won the Grand Shield in 2023, a contest where he was named the Best Soloist. Whitburn Band is delighted to announce the signing of Emily Kroegler on Principal Baritone. Emily, 16, joins Whitburn from Buckhaven & Methil Miners’ Brass Band, and will perform in a section alongside the vastly experienced Evelyn Bradley. She started playing with Buckhaven and Clackmannan junior bands, before joining Buckhaven’s senior band two years ago, where she performed at the National finals in Cheltenham. Whitburn Band would like to wish Charlie Boax all the best as she moves to Wales to join the Cory Band. Charlie has been one of Whitburn’s leading soloists in recent years on Principal Baritone, and won the Scottish Championships with the band three times - in 2023, 2025 and earlier this year.
