Whitburn sign Emily Kroegler on Principal Baritone

Whitburn Band is delighted to announce the signing of Emily Kroegler on Principal Baritone.

Emily, 16, joins Whitburn from Buckhaven & Methil Miners’ Brass Band, and will perform in a section alongside the vastly experienced Evelyn Bradley.

She started playing with Buckhaven and Clackmannan junior bands, before joining Buckhaven’s senior band two years ago, where she performed at the National finals in Cheltenham.

Earlier this year, Emily won the Intermediate Section of the Northern Counties Youth Solo contest.

She is a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland, and later this year will begin at the RCS Junior Conservatoire in Glasgow.

Emily said: “I’m thrilled to be starting my journey with the band and I am especially looking forward to seeing myself develop within the band.

“Everyone has been so welcoming, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for me here.”

Charlie Farren, Whitburn Band Chairman, added: “We are delighted to welcome Emily to the band.

“She is a fine young player who has already settled in well, and we look forward to her performing with Whitburn.”

Whitburn Band is currently on its summer break, and looks forward to performing in August at two Wallace and Gromit concerts at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - The Wrong Trousers, and A Grand Day Out.

Tickets are available for both on our website in the Events section. - Whitburn Band is supported by Greyside Developments
