Charlie Boax joins Cory

Whitburn Band would like to wish Charlie Boax all the best as she moves to Wales to join the Cory Band.

Charlie has been one of Whitburn’s leading soloists in recent years on Principal Baritone, and won the Scottish Championships with the band three times - in 2023, 2025 and earlier this year. She also won the Grand Shield with Whitburn in 2023.

Charlie featured as a soloist throughout her time at Whitburn at concerts and recordings, and in 2023 and 2024 won the Rotary Club UK Young Musician of the Year.

Charlie Boax said: “I would like to thank everyone at Whitburn for all their help and support over the last four years.

“I’ve loved being a member of the band and I’ve gained a lot of experience working with the players and conductors.

“I’d like to wish Whitburn all the best for the future, and I am very excited to be joining the Cory Band and looking forward to the future.”

Charlie Farren, Whitburn Band Chairman, added: “We would like to thank Charlie for her fantastic contribution to Whitburn, and we wish her all the best with Cory.”
