Whitburn Band will be performing at next year’s world-renowned Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
The band will feature in Ivor Novello award-winning musician Martin Green’s ‘Split the Air’ alongside celebrated Tenor Horn soloist Sheona White.
The show is a “celebration of brass bands, and the strength of community and collective action,” and marks four decades since the miners’ strike.
It follows Green’s acclaimed BBC Radio 4 series 'Love, Spit and Valve Oil', which has been heard by millions and has been nominated for several awards.
