Whitburn Band is delighted to announce the signing of Colin Buchanan on second trombone.
Colin brings a wealth of experience to the band having performed with Whitburn before, along with periods at Unison Kinneil and Newtongrange Silver.
He has played on some of the biggest stages in banding including the British Open, the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain and the European Brass Band Championships.
In 2015, he became a Scottish champion with Whitburn.
Colin replaces Emma Close, who leaves Whitburn after a successful spell to concentrate further on her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Charlie Farren, Whitburn Band Chairman, said: “We thank Emma for all her hard work with the band and wish her well as she continues at the Conservatoire.
“We also welcome Colin. Paul Kiernan and I know he will be a great addition to the trombone team.
“The band is looking forward to concerts, a recording project, and of course the British Open, National Championships and Scottish Open later this year.”
