Congratulations to our Solo Horn player Andrew McMillan and Solo Baritone player Charlie Boax, who had a weekend of success at solo competitions.
Andrew became the Scottish solo champion in the Youth category, while Charlie won the Intermediate section for players aged 16 and under. Both contests were adjudicated by Black Dyke’s Principal Trombone player Brett Baker.

It was a weekend of double success for Charlie, as she won the overall prize at the Scottish Rotary awards and will now compete in the Grand Finals at the Chetham’s School of Music later this year.
