Time for another interview with a Whitburn Band legend!
Jim Martin, who turned 92 a few weeks ago, was President of Whitburn during one of the pivotal moments in the band’s history – victory at the Scottish Championships in 1968.
It was the first time Whitburn became Scottish champions, and the result was seen as a big shock at the time. However, under Jim’s leadership, Whitburn continued to build and would go on to win the Scottish four times between 1970 and 1975, becoming one of the leading bands in the country.
Jim was interviewed by Kenny Crookston, as part of a series of events to mark Whitburn Band’s 150th anniversary.
